Andriy Mulyar, Founder & CTO @ Nomic AI "Nomic Atlas: Scaling Embedding and ML infrastructure to find insights in 10 million text documents"

Finding insights in unstructured data shouldn't require a data scientist or a machine learning engineer. In this talk, I will discuss the tooling behind Nomic's Atlas (https://atlas.nomic.ai) - the first embedding powered AI platform engineered to let anyone uncover insights in and interact with massive unstructured datasets of text, images, video and audio.

Bio: Andriy is the founder and CTO of Nomic AI - a venture backed start-up that is on a mission to democratize access to powerful artificial intelligence. Prior to Nomic, Andriy was an early engineer at RadAI where he trained multi-billion parameter LLMs to assist radiologists and a Ph.D. student at NYU's Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences.

Shashikant Kuwar, Director @ Annalect

"How and why build data mesh to super-charge cross-team and cross company collaboration"

Enterprise worldwide is scrambling to optimize data assets ahead of anticipated never-before-seen demand, driven by advances in large language models — completely unaware of their own data selfishness. Understandably, most organizations are focused solely on their own data, missing an opportunity to enhance cross-organization and even inter-organization collaboration — with clients, vendors, and partners.

As early adopters of Data Mesh in 2021, w at Annalect, the Data Engineering & Tech arm of Omnicom crystalized our data strategy, clarified data ownership, and federated data policies — all while increasing our ability to accommodate wide-ranging teams’ needs. Now just two years old, our data mesh has matured into a framework for collaboration with clients, vendors, and partners. We learned a lot along the way, and we’d like to share our story, including real-world pitfalls, solutions, and tweaks. The talk includes a conceptual overview of what is data mesh and how to build one cross-cloud leveraging Terraform.

Bio: Shashikant Kuwar is the Director of DevOps Engineering at Annalect, where he drives the DevOps strategy and promotes a culture of automation and continuous improvement. He provides strategic direction for DevOps initiatives, leads a team of talented engineers, and emphasizes the use of cloud-native technologies and CI/CD pipelines.

We look forward to seeing you on what looks to be a great night.
